Responsibilities
- Coordinate and assign freight loads to drivers using transportation management systems (TMS) and other dispatch software
- Monitor real-time truck locations and statuses to ensure timely deliveries and pickups
- Communicate effectively with drivers via multi-line phone systems, maintaining professional phone etiquette and clear messaging
- Manage shipping and receiving schedules, ensuring accurate documentation and timely processing of shipments
- Utilize analysis skills to troubleshoot issues, optimize routes, and improve overall dispatch efficiency
- Maintain detailed data entry records related to freight movements, driver logs, and delivery statuses using systems like AS400 or SyteLine
- Collaborate with supply chain teams and 3PL (third-party logistics) providers to coordinate freight movements and resolve logistical challenges promptly
Requirements
- Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS), AS400, and SyteLine for efficient dispatching and data tracking
- Strong understanding of supply chain processes, freight operations, shipping and receiving procedures
- Excellent communication skills with professional phone etiquette and the ability to convey information clearly across multiple channels
- Data entry accuracy combined with analysis skills to interpret operational data for continuous improvement
- Ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently while maintaining composure in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with 3PL logistics providers and shipping regulations to ensure compliance and smooth operations
- Strong typing skills for quick data entry and record keeping
