Description
American Traveler is hiring a Level II NICU RN with prior NICU experience and previous travel experience required for a day-shift assignment.
Details
- Level II NICU unit caring for unstable newborns 32 weeks and greater
- Attends all deliveries including high-risk deliveries
- Patient population includes neonates 29-34 weeks with gastrointestinal, infectious disease, neurologic, and respiratory needs
- Manages breastfeeding support, feedings (bottle, breast, gavage), and IV therapy
- Provides central/implanted line care, UAC/UVC management, and administers emergency medications, IV vasopressors, surfactants, and steroids
- Cares for infants with Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome and uses Bubble CPAP and oxygen delivery systems
- Performs breathing treatments, chest tube setup/care, CPAP/BiPAP, procedure sedation, and RSI drug administration
- Utilizes cooling/warming blankets, drains, feeding tubes, PICC/central lines, and syringe pumps
- Provides couplet care and transition nursery support
- Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Floating may be required to Postpartum and L&D units, as well as sister facilities within the state
- Weekend shifts required to meet staffing needs
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required, must be in hand at time of submission
- BLS and NRP certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required
- Level II NICU experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required for consideration
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Candidates must disclose any prior work history with Providence facilities, including permanent, travel, or registry/per-diem roles, along with location and dates
- Former Providence permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
- Local candidates within 50 miles are accepted at a lower bill rate
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- All RTO and specific scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during the application process
- Limited flexibility for RTO after submission or offer stage
