RN II – PACU (Mandatory Call) | Travel Assignment
Location: San Luis Obispo, Central California Coast
Specialty: Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) / Surgical Recovery
Assignment Dates: 08/17/2026 – 10/11/2026
Shift: Day Shift (36–48 hrs/week options) | 12-hour shifts
Call Requirement: Mandatory Call
EMR: Epic & Cerner experience within the last 12 months(Current hands-on experience required)
Role Summary
As an RN II in PACU, you will provide immediate post-anesthesia care for surgical patients, ensuring safe emergence from anesthesia and stabilization during recovery.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients recovering from general, spinal, regional, and IV sedation
- Manage airway, hemodynamics, pain, bleeding, and nausea control
- Respond rapidly to emergent changes in patient condition
- Coordinate closely with anesthesia, surgeons, and circulating RNs
- Ensure safe discharge readiness using PACU standards
- Maintain strict adherence to safety, monitoring, and medication protocols
- Utilize Epic for documentation and clinical coordination
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Associate Degree in Nursing (Required)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Preferred)
- Minimum 1 year PACU or critical care experience (Required)
Licensure & Certifications
- Active RN license(Required)
- BLS (Required)
- ACLS (Required)
- PALS (Required)
- TNCC (Required within 1 year of hire)
