Travel Respiratory Therapist

About This Role

This travel position is for a Respiratory Therapist to provide direct patient care, including evaluations and treatments according to procedural guidelines, in a variety of clinical areas. The role involves administering respiratory and cardiology modalities and responding to emergent situations.

Responsibilities

• Administer to patients a variety of simple and complex respiratory and cardiology modalities
• Maintain appropriate patient records/documentation
• Clean, disinfect, assemble, calibrate, and maintain respiratory and cardiology equipment and accessories
• Evaluate equipment for proper and safe function and report malfunctions to director
• Perform arterial puncture and analyze samples according to procedure guidelines
• Interact with co-workers, nurses, physicians, and other hospital personnel to optimize continuum of care for patients
• Respond to emergent situations that could require Respiratory support

Requirements

• 1 year of recent acute care experience
• BLS certification
• RRT certification
• ACLS certification
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty
• Ability to easily lift 20 pounds; moving or lifting of patients may require lifting of up to 50 pounds at times
• Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Nice to have:

• PALS certification (may be required in some areas)

• Schedule: 36 hours per week, 12-hour nights
