Travel Respiratory Therapist

About This Role

This travel job for a Registered Respiratory Therapist involves providing respiratory support and management for adult and geriatric patients in a hospital setting. The role focuses on supporting Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department populations, assisting with airway management, and operating various ventilation systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory support and management for adult and geriatric patients in the hospital
• Support Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department populations
• Assist with airway management procedures including extubation, intubation, and tracheostomy care
• Operate and troubleshoot ventilators such as BiPAP, CPAP, and other oxygen-delivery systems
• Collaborate with Rapid Response Teams and provide respiratory care throughout the hospital

Requirements

• Active Maryland Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure
• 3 years of Respiratory Therapy experience
• ACLS and BLS certifications
• Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department respiratory experience
• Airway management including extubation, intubation assistance, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
• Experience with bronchoscopy support and sputum specimen collection
• Ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, SIMV, pressure-alarm troubleshooting, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Chest physiotherapy, arterial blood gas collection, and ABG interpretation
• Experience with BiPAP and CPAP, mechanical ventilators, high-flow oxygen systems, nebulizer, and aerosol medication-delivery systems
