Travel Respiratory Therapist

About This Role

This travel position is for a Respiratory Therapist to provide direct patient care, including evaluations and treatments, in various clinical areas. The role involves administering respiratory and cardiology modalities and maintaining equipment.

Responsibilities

• Administer a variety of simple and complex respiratory and cardiology modalities to patients
• Maintain appropriate patient records/documentation
• Clean, disinfect, assemble, calibrate, and maintain respiratory and cardiology equipment and accessories
• Evaluate equipment for proper and safe function and report malfunctions to the director
• Perform arterial puncture and analyze samples according to procedure guidelines
• Interact with co-workers, nurses, physicians, and other hospital personnel to optimize continuum of care for patients
• Respond to emergent situations that could require Respiratory support

Requirements

• 1 year of recent acute care experience
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• NBRC certification
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean, or stoop without difficulty
• Ability to easily lift 20 pounds; moving or lifting patients may require lifting up to 50 pounds at times
• Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Nice to have:

• PALS certification (may be required in some areas)
• NRP certification (may be required in some areas)

• Schedule: 40 hours per week, 8-hour night shifts
