Description
American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist for a Home Health position requiring 1+ year of home health experience and a valid driver's license for home visits.
Details
- Home health setting providing skilled visits to patients covered by Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and commercial insurance
- Diverse patient population including med/surg, cardiac, ortho, hips/knees/shoulders, post-surgical, COPD, CHF, pneumonia, CVA, falls, weakness, Parkinson's, failure to thrive, respiratory, neuro, trachs, trauma, and amputee (AKA/BKA) patients
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
- 6-8 home visits per day with a minimum of 6 points per day
- 1-2 weekends required per contract
- Self-scheduled visits and hours based on office needs
- Uses BayCare Forms, BayCare Scheduling, and Ace Timesheet documentation systems
- Provided with laptop, MiFi for internet access, and portable printer
Requirements
- Active FL or Compact OT license required (if applicable)
- Minimum 1 year of experience required; 2 years preferred
- Must be an independent practitioner
- BLS certification required
- OASIS training and LSVT certification preferred
- Home health experience required
- Valid driver's license and personal vehicle required for home visits
- Cerner charting experience preferred
- COVID vaccination or exemption documentation required
- Flu shot or declination required; mandatory mask wearing if declined
Additional Information
- Provide occupational therapy services including ADLs, adaptive equipment training, home assessments, pre-discharge planning, and wheelchair evaluations
- Perform standardized assessments including cognitive assessment, FIM, and functional capacity evaluation
- Treat conditions including CVA, amputee, arthritis, dementia, hand injuries, multiple sclerosis, nerve injuries, Parkinson's disease, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
- Utilize modalities including electrical stimulation, myofascial release, lymphedema management, and burn/wound management
- Any solid color scrubs accepted as dress code
- Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate
- Former BayCare employees must wait at least 12 months before returning as a traveler
- RTO is not accommodated for standard travel contract submissions
