Job Summary:

Step Down Unit registered nurses (RNs) are sought for a fast-paced, adult and geriatric-focused healthcare facility. Located in an acute care setting, this role involves managing patients with conditions such as cardiac issues, nephrology, strokes, and diabetes, often requiring continuous EEG monitoring. The position requires critical thinking, effective communication, and teamwork to provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic environment.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week, beginning 09/28/2026 and ending 01/04/2027.

  • Required Qualifications: Valid licensure to practice as an RN, with a minimum of 2 years of experience, and certifications including Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) American Heart Association (AHA), Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association (AHA), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS).

  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in step down units, critical thinking skills, and positive attitude.

  • Additional Information:

    • RNs will be responsible for titrating drips such as Cardizem, beta blockers, and seizure medications.

    • A charge nurse will oversee each shift, with the charge nurse taking assignments.

    • Nurses may float to medical floors, Intensive Care Units (ICU), or rehabilitation units.

    • Orientation includes one week of onboarding plus 1-2 days of floor-specific training.

    • Candidates must adhere to a 50-mile radius rule and cannot be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with a specific healthcare network.

    • Must present a valid drivers license at submittal for mileage verification.

    • RTO (Request for Time Off) is needed upfront for 7 days or less within the 13-week contract; additional RTO requests will not be approved.
