Job Summary:

Labor and Delivery Nursing Specialist in a hospital setting. This position requires delivering high-quality care to females of childbearing age, including those who are pregnant, laboring, or undergoing scheduled procedures such as cesarean sections or external cephalic versions. The role involves managing admissions, discharges, transfers, pre-operative activities, and deliveries (both vaginal and cesarean). The ideal candidate will be skilled in electronic fetal monitoring and familiar with documentation systems used in labor and delivery units.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week

  • Required Qualifications: Valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state/district; at least 3 years of experience in Labor and Delivery; graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program; BSN degree highly desired; CPR, BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required; experience with electronic fetal monitoring; current AWHONN score; proficiency with Fetalink and Cerner documentation systems; must reside within 100 miles of the facility.

  • Preferred Qualifications: Additional neonatal or obstetric certifications; experience with high-volume labor units.

  • Additional Information: The activity on the unit includes patient admissions, discharges, transfers, pre-op activities, and deliveries. Equipment commonly used includes fetal monitors and electronic documentation systems. The candidate must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and follow established SOPs.
