About the role

Position Overview:

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Dental Assistant – Travel Contract for an exciting Contract opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for dental examinations and treatments.
  • Assist dentists during chairside procedures and support a variety of dental treatments.
  • Set up, maintain, and organize dental treatment rooms for daily clinical operations.
  • Sterilize and disinfect dental instruments and equipment following established infection control protocols.
  • Take, develop, process, and mount dental radiographs (X-rays).
  • Prepare and mix dental materials, including amalgams, cements, and composites.
  • Maintain dental equipment and ensure proper functionality.
  • Assist with assigned dental laboratory procedures.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation.
  • Support dental providers and clinical staff in delivering quality patient care.
  • Follow hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control guidelines.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of an approved Dental Assistant training program required.
  • Candidates must meet one of the following:
    • Completion of at least 600 instructional hours of an approved Dental Assistant program; OR
    • Completion of at least 300 instructional hours of an approved Dental Assistant program plus 6 months of full-time Dental Assistant experience performing dental radiographs, chairside assisting, and instrument sterilization/autoclave procedures; OR
    • High School Diploma/GED plus 1 year of full-time Dental Assistant experience performing dental X-rays, chairside assisting, and instrument sterilization.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to patient care.
  • Ability to work effectively with dentists, patients, and healthcare teams in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hospital or clinical dental setting experience preferred.
  • Experience assisting with general dentistry procedures preferred.
  • Familiarity with dental records and documentation systems preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of infection control practices preferred.
