Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Technologist with 2+ years of cath lab experience to work in a high-volume acute care cardiac catheterization lab.
Details
- Acute care hospital with 304 staffed beds
- Works in the Cath Lab unit performing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures
- Runs 4 to 5 labs per day with 2-3 CVT per lab, averaging 20-25 cases daily
- 4x10 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with hours varying to complete procedures
- On-call required: one weekend (Fri, Sat, Sun) per 7 weeks plus a call shift and evening shift every week
- Holiday coverage as needed
- No floating between service lines or to sister facilities
- Uses Epic for charting
- Uses PACS, Fuji Vidistar, and MAC Lab equipment
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience required
- BLS and ACLS certification required (AHA certifications only)
- ARRT or RCIS certification required (registered or in process)
- South Carolina RN license required if applicable; candidates with a pending license may be considered but must have an active license before starting
- Radiation badge required, to be provided by the agency
- Community hospital experience required
- Proficient in coronary diagnostic and interventional scrub and monitoring
- Experience with cardiac stent placement, left and right heart catheterization, PCI, PTCA, rotablator atherectomy, and vascular studies/procedures
- Impella insertion experience preferred
- Embolization experience preferred
- Driver's license and SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- Performs diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab procedures, including abdominal and pelvic embolization and IVC filter placement
- Hospital-issued scrubs provided for the Cath Lab
- Block scheduling may be accommodated with manager approval based on unit needs
- First-time travelers may be considered depending on position needs
- Candidates who were previous perm or PRN staff must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- All requested time off must be submitted at time of consideration; approval is based on facility needs
- Local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis
- 60-mile radius rule applies, with non-local candidates prioritized
- Staff may be required to support emergency response teams during hurricane season (June-November, peak August-September)
