Responsibilities

• Direct and evaluate daily fleet operations and freight logistics, ensuring efficient routing, load planning, and on-time delivery schedules across all assigned transit corridors
• Establish and enforce internal safety protocols and operational policies, ensuring the company’s strict compliance with Ministry of Transportation (MTO) regulations, dangerous goods handling (if applicable), and driver hours-of-service rules
• Supervise the dispatch department and coordinate comprehensive preventive maintenance and servicing schedules for the commercial trucking fleet to minimize mechanical downtime and ensure road safety
• Manage the transportation operating budget, controlling variable expenses such as fuel costs and maintenance fees, while evaluating and approving the acquisition of new fleet equipment and parts
• Analyze fleet performance metrics (such as fuel efficiency, idle times, and delivery rates) to prepare comprehensive operational reports for executive review, utilizing the data to implement strategic changes to dispatch schedules
• Lead the recruitment, onboarding, and performance management of commercial drivers, dispatchers, and support staff, overseeing their ongoing safety training and compliance certifications

Requirements

• Completion of a Bachelor's Degree
• 2-3 years of experience working as a supervisor or as a manager in a similar field
• English language proficiency
