Transportation Coordinator

About This Role

This role assists the Transportation Supervisor with the university's transportation programs. It involves supervising student workers, handling administrative tasks related to bikes and scooters, and maintaining transportation-related reports. The position suits someone who is self-managed, enjoys working independently and collaboratively, and has a passion for supporting transportation and sustainability initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Help with the supervision of Transportation student workers, including those for PTS Pickup and the Orange Bike Project
• Prepare, maintain, and update transportation-related reports and logs
• Read and answer departmental correspondence
• Collect and compile information using various database programs
• Perform research, data entry, and retrieval, prioritizing tasks accordingly
• Handle routine administrative tasks daily, including bike lock cuts and impounds, bike locker permit sales, bike storage access, bike permit sales, Kickstand sales, bike rack placement and removal, fixing bicycle pumps, adding and removing scooter parking, overseeing scooter impounds, scooter inventory, and enforcement of policies and regulations
• Perform duties under broad instructions concerning policy and procedure
• Use power tools including saws, welders, and grinders
• Lift 50 lbs
• Work in all weather conditions
• Work occasional weekends, holidays, and overtime hours as needed
• Work a minimum of two home football games every year, in addition to every other Thanksgiving week and/or playoff home football game

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2 years of experience in customer service or administrative-related roles
• 2 years of experience in transportation-related programs
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
• Self-managed and able to work independently
• Ability to collaborate with other staff members to complete projects effectively
• Passion for supporting transportation and sustainability initiatives
• Valid Texas driver's license
• Ability to drive vehicles, including carts and vans
• Ability to pass a criminal background check upon hire
• Professional demeanor with excellent customer service skills

Nice to have:

• Bachelor's degree or five years combined experience in customer service and the transportation services industry
• Strong grasp of bicycle mechanics and a genuine enthusiasm for transportation
• Proficiency in operating power tools
