Transportation Coordinator

About This Role

This role involves overseeing daily booking confirmations, managing vessel closing times, and coordinating job operations within Smart Freight System and Port Klang Net for both import and export deliveries. You will handle transport requests, address detention and demurrage claims, manage container damage claims, and ensure daily updates of export VGM documentation for Northport and Westport. The position also requires responding to customer inquiries for special transportation needs and preparing monthly objective and haulage reports.

Responsibilities

• Check and receive daily booking confirmation from Customer Service
• Check vessel closing time in the Port System and update the respective department accordingly
• Open jobs in Smart Freight System / Port Klang Net for import and export delivery, updating as required
• Request for Request of Transport (ROT) / Delivery and RFC / Return Depot from the Import and Export Department
• Attend to detention and demurrage claims as required
• Attend to SSR / Waiting Charges Claims when required by the Export Department
• Attend and follow up on container damage claims when required
• Update export VGM for Northport and Westport on a daily basis
• Attend to direct inquiries from customers for transportation on special arrangements
• Prepare Monthly Objective Report and Monthly Haulage Import and Export Report

Requirements

• Possess at least SPM or above
• Minimum 1 year of experience in logistics/transportation
• Familiar with the haulage environment
• Solid knowledge of FCL and LCL shipping documents, customs clearance, and local transportation
• Efficient multitasking with good communications and time management skills
• Adaptable and resilient in high-stress and rapid work conditions
