Transportation Clerk

About This Role

The Transportation Clerk is responsible for maintaining pallet tracking, auditing driver logs and trip reports, and tracking DOT requirements for logs and driver files. This role serves as a liaison for internal customer support and tracks all return goods as directed by the customer for close-out from the private fleet.

Responsibilities

• Perform various office and administrative duties, which may include handling accounts payable/receivable and collections, payroll, fuel reconciliation, office supplies, billing, maintaining database, and miscellaneous reporting
• Audit logs and trip reports and other DOT reporting
• Maintain files
• Interact with customer service
• Resolve driver equipment requests and pallet tracking
• Maintain and distribute route books
• Interface daily with drivers
• Assist with driver coverage for vacation and overflow freight
• Involve the Safety team as required by location
• Prioritize workload and have flexibility to adjust based on position requirements
• Maintain confidentiality
• Perform other projects and tasks assigned by supervisor

Requirements

• 2 years of general office experience
• 1 year of customer service experience
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
• Willingness to travel as necessary
• Willingness to work the required schedule
• Willingness to work at the specific location required
• Complete Penske employment application
• Submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening

• AS400 experience

• Schedule: Sunday 8:00 pm - 6:00 am; Monday-Thursday 10:00 pm - 6:00 am
