Transcriptionist

About This Role

This role involves converting audio and video files into accurate written records. It requires a keen ear, fast typing skills, and the ability to deliver clean, formatted transcripts on schedule.

Responsibilities

• Transcribe audio and video files into accurate written transcripts
• Edit AI-generated transcripts for accuracy, formatting, and speaker attribution
• Format transcripts according to client style guides and templates
• Flag inaudible sections, technical terms, and named entities for review
• Meet daily turnaround targets while maintaining accuracy benchmarks
• Maintain confidentiality of all transcription content

Requirements

• 1+ years in transcription, captioning, or related work
• Typing speed of 70+ WPM with high accuracy
• Excellent written English including grammar, spelling, and punctuation
• Familiarity with transcription tools (Express Scribe, Otter, Rev, oTranscribe)
• Ability to maintain focus during long-form audio
• Comfort handling sensitive or confidential material
• A systems thinker who breaks complex problems into actionable steps
• Strong written communication and stakeholder management
• Bias toward action and the ability to drive things to completion
• Comfort working asynchronously across time zones
