Transcriptionist

About This Role

This role involves creating accurate transcripts of court proceedings from both tape and digital recordings. The Transcriptionist will also handle administrative tasks under the supervision of the Court Administrator.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate transcripts of judicial proceedings from both tape and digital recordings as requested
• Certify accuracy of transcripts prepared
• Process transcript requests and engage in written correspondence with requestors
• Maintain records and filing systems to facilitate storage and retrieval of transcripts prepared
• Perform administrative duties as assigned under the supervision of the Court Administrator

Requirements

• Graduation from high school or equivalent
• At least one year of court-related experience
• Experience with computer programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PDF software
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with other employees

Nice to have:

• One to two years experience as a typist, including knowledge of the format and requirements of transcript preparation
