Transcriptionist

About This Role

This transcriptionist role is an integral part of the laboratory team, providing support in patient testing and ensuring accurate patient identification on specimens and medical documentation. The position suits a detail-oriented individual who can transcribe recordings to text files accurately and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Listen to and transcribe recordings to text files
• Maintain accuracy while transcribing texts
• Complete transcriptions in a timely manner, reviewing grammar, punctuation, and spelling prior to submission
• Format and notate transcriptions based on specific client requirements
• Correct any errors or inaccuracies in a timely manner
• Fax completed reports to the appropriate provider

Requirements

• Ability to type quickly and accurately while proofreading
• Excellent grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills
• Excellent verbal communication, listening, and computer skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines while maintaining attention to detail
• Familiarity with Microsoft Windows operating system
• High school diploma or equivalent

Important Details

• Schedule: Normal hours are 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM; one evening shift per week of 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM is required
