Training Manager

About This Role

This role is responsible for ensuring effective worker competence and accurate training services, information, and systems for the Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail (LGCFR) project. Reporting to the HR Manager, this position suits a professional with extensive experience in training and development within the construction or engineering sector.

Responsibilities

• Manage training budgets and resources effectively
• Maintain the LGCFR Training Needs Analysis and other relevant matrices for the project
• Propose training that complies with client expectations and relevant legislation for the project
• Ensure all workforce training meets Queensland Rail and Transport and Main Roads (TMR) competency requirements
• Verify that all personnel possess required competencies before accessing rail corridor or critical works
• Liaise with internal project leaders and subcontractors to confirm training requirements, gaps, and upcoming skills
• Support the professional growth of the training team by offering guidance, constructive feedback, and sharing expertise in workforce competency management
• Manage and maintain the Rail Industry Worker system for the project
• Provide monthly reporting of relevant competency expiration dates
• Report monthly against the Qld Government Building and Construction Training Policy
• Prepare Quarterly Skills Development Progress Report

Requirements

• Minimum 10+ years’ experience with training and development, specifically within construction, engineering, or a related industry
• Strong understanding of construction methods, safety regulations, and industry tools
• Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to build a high-performing team that delivers excellence
• Effective interpersonal and written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated high level analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
