About the role

Duties

  • The incumbent plans, manages, and executes Cyber training for Brigade personnel in accordance and coordination with applicable Army, Joint, and National Security Agency/Central Security Service (NSA/CSS) training requirements, standards, and policies. Conducts continuous coordination with National Cryptologic School (NCS) course developers, regional NSA ADETs, the Cyber Brigade Cyberspace Training Office and ARCBYER/JTF/CYBERCOM to maintain current curricula and programs of instruction in common with current best practices and lessons learned.
  • The incumbent conducts periodic technical and functional training in accordance with established schedules.
  • As required, conducts modular, aperiodic training to optimize the time and personnel available.
  • Prepares training material and coordinates training resources (equipment, facilities, databases, and instructors/trainers) required to execute technical and functional training of personnel conducting or supporting the execution of Cyber and SIGINT enabling support to Cyberspace Operations.
  • As required, the incumbent develops new or tailors existing training material to meet the mission specific needs of the operation or integrate new technology or lessons learned.

Experience required: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: developing and coordinating school policies, procedures, and regulations pertaining to training, planning, researching, scheduling, and manpower; providing technical advice on school requirements and academic programs; and providing full supervisory functions of subordinate personnel. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills, abilities) in the following areas:

  • Competence to plan and direct the operations of an academic/training program.
  • Knowledge of academic concepts, policies, and procedures affecting academic/training programs.
  • Ability to plan and conduct studies to render decisions to support an academic/training program.
  • Skill in personnel administration and management.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade (or equivalent).
