Traffic Office Manager - Night Shift

About This Role

This night-shift role involves leading and inspiring a front-line team of approximately 80 large goods vehicle drivers within the transport office at Preston Mail Centre. The manager will ensure operational work plans are achieved, optimize the flow of parcels and mail, and maintain compliance with business policies and procedures, all while contributing to the company's transformation towards a parcel-led business.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire a front-line team of approximately 80 drivers of large goods vehicles (7.5tn and above)
• Professionalize distribution operations
• Ensure operational work plans are achieved
• Optimize the flow of parcels and mail through the pipeline
• Maintain compliance with business policies, national work plan, and Standard Operating Procedures
• Deliver results and improved customer service through the team
• Build effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
• Work closely alongside trade union representatives to deliver excellent service
