Tour Operations Consultant

About This Role

This entry-level role is ideal for someone passionate about travel, ready to grow into a specialist coordination role within New Zealand's inbound and domestic touring industry. The Tour Operations Consultant will be mentored by experienced team members and gain exposure to the entire tour journey, from initial inquiry to post-tour follow-up.

Responsibilities

• Take inquiries and help clients choose the right tour, add-ons, and travel insurance
• Load bookings, deposits, and balances into the reservation system with accuracy
• Confirm reservations with hotels, coach operators, and activity suppliers
• Pull together travel documents, manifests, room lists, and tour manager notes
• Support tour managers and the frontline team while tours are in operation
• Take a turn on the rostered after-hours phone for tours in operation
• Follow up post-tour with a friendly "welcome home" touchpoint

Requirements

• Genuine interest in travel and a customer-first mindset
• Excellent attention to detail
• Confident written and verbal communication
• Strong organization and the ability to juggle competing deadlines
• Comfort with computer systems and a willingness to learn new ones

Nice to have:

• Prior experience in travel, tourism, hospitality, admin, or contact center work
