Title Examiner - Residential

About This Role

This role involves examining records from the Cook County Tax Collector/Treasurer, Clerk, and Assessor using county websites and records at the County Office in Cook County, IL. The position is for a Cook County Tax Data Examiner within the Property Insight Title Tax Team and requires working onsite.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Tax Team to complete full tax research of county records, both online and at the County Offices
• Complete necessary work using the TitlePoint Tax Maintenance application
• Conduct research and collect data to complete and release customer orders in a timely manner
• Work closely with colleagues to complete daily tasks
• Ensure high-quality data is collected and maintain the integrity of data released to customers
• Conceptualize data and share this knowledge through effective presentation of data output with the rest of the team
• Work within County Office rules to ensure the entire team can continue to access records
• Analyze historical and go-forward data for input into a Tax Order system that tracks required completion pieces before order release
• Summarize County Tax Records on paper in the County Offices prior to data-entering the information into the system
• Respond to customer email questions in a timely manner

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in County Property Taxes
• Ability to work in a County Office professional setting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
• Knowledge and ability to write professional emails
• Strong written and communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
