TIG Welder

About This Role

This role is for a skilled TIG Welder at Ferco Aerospace, focusing on precision, craftsmanship, and high-quality standards in complex aerospace components. It involves working with thin-gauge materials, detailed blueprints, and tight specifications to produce parts that meet demanding customer and industry requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform precision TIG welding on stainless steel and Inconel aerospace components
• Weld sheet material ranging approximately from 0.035" to 0.250" thickness
• Set up welding equipment and select the appropriate filler wire, materials, and welding parameters based on job requirements
• Prepare parts for welding through cutting, grinding, cleaning, fitting, and other fabrication processes
• Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, job routers, and specifications
• Produce welds that meet dimensional, visual, and quality requirements
• Inspect your own work throughout the welding process and make adjustments as necessary
• Maintain proper weld quality while working efficiently and meeting production expectations
• Safely operate grinders, hand tools, and other equipment required for fabrication and weld preparation
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
• Follow all company safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures
• Work independently while also supporting the needs of the team and department
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Previous TIG welding experience
• Experience welding stainless steel, Inconel, or other specialty alloys strongly preferred
• Ability to weld thin-gauge material with accuracy and consistency
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and detailed work instructions
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
• Self-motivated with the ability to work with limited supervision
• Willingness to learn new processes, materials, and techniques
• Ability to accept feedback and continuously improve welding skills
• High School Diploma or GED
