Territory Account Manager

About This Role

This role is responsible for the sales of all Cataract products within a defined territory, including Phaco Equipment, Intra Ocular Lenses, and Visco-Elastics. The incumbent will plan, organize, and implement selling activities for the Johnson & Johnson Surgical Vision (JJSV) business to achieve or exceed sales objectives.

Responsibilities

• Attain or exceed budgeted sales objectives for all nominated JJSV products
• Systematically cover all surgeons on designated territory as per the minimum criterion set for segmented customers
• Develop, monitor sales activity, and implement corrective actions to achieve targets
• Provide focused sales presentations and develop relationships with surgeons and surgery center support staff
• Provide expert product knowledge to customers and carry out in-service to ensure correct usage of JJSV products
• Develop and maintain a strong market orientation
• Build JJSV competitive knowledge
• Develop a complete understanding of the tender business and public and private hospital dynamics
• Communicate with management on changes in market attitudes about surgical/ophthalmic issues
• Prepare and submit on a timely basis, online field activity reports on the organization provided tool that comply with reporting requirements for the territory and other reports requested by the management
• Analyze sales reports and report on sales variances in monthly commentary
• Effectively manage surgical assets in the field such as IOL consignments, hand held instruments, and loaner/demo equipment
• Work with management to reduce inventory levels and accounts receivable days
• Ensure that all Phaco inventory and service requirements are effectively communicated to the relevant Sales Support staff
• Care for all company property, practice cost containment, comply with all local and government regulations pertaining to transportation, storage, control and utilization of products
• Build relationships with internal and external customers (Doctors/KOLS/Distributors/Peers and Superiors)
• Adhere to environmental policy, procedures, and support department environmental objectives

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Science/Commerce/ Engineering (Electronics/ Electrical/ Instrumentation) or Optometry
• 2 – 4 years of sales experience in the healthcare industry, preferably in medical devices and consumables
