Terminal Manager

About This Role

The Terminal Manager oversees the efficient operation of the bus terminal, ensuring that all functions of the facility run smoothly. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is committed to maintaining high safety standards while supporting the team and the students they serve.

Responsibilities

• Manage the overall day-to-day operations of the facility.
• Oversee the school bus fleet, drivers, and monitors continuously.
• Implement Driver Recruitment Programs to ensure coverage of daily routes and adequate substitute personnel.
• Evaluate full-time staff annually and manage their performance.
• Investigate complaints and assist in appropriate resolutions.
• Ensure compliance with company, district, state, and federal regulations.
• Verify accuracy of monthly credential reports.
• Oversee payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and month-end requirements.
• Provide safe, reliable, on-time service through efficient routing solutions.
• Attend all required School Board meetings.
• Ensure all employees receive appropriate job-specific training.
• Plan monthly driver safety meetings with the safety and training designee.
• Participate in planning yearly financial requirements for the facility.
• Manage Monthly Profit & Loss Statements and Fixed Asset Reports.
• Develop charter and school business during non-school days and summer months.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Area General Manager or STA Senior Management.

Requirements

• 5 or more years in an operations/logistics leadership role, preferably in the passenger transportation/bus industry.
• Ability to plan in detail and organize effectively.
• Strong leadership and motivational skills.
• Ability to thrive in a constantly changing environment and meet tight timelines.
• Proficiency with computers and relevant software.
• Knowledge of Federal and State regulations, including OSHA regulations.
• Professional conduct that reflects positively on STA.
