Terminal Manager

About This Role

This role is responsible for all aspects of a terminal's material operations and administrative functions. It involves supervising, directing, and coordinating activities such as ensuring materials meet DOT specifications and assigning duties to employees.

Responsibilities

• Manage the testing of materials to determine specific requirements in a safe, efficient, and productive manner
• Identify and become familiar with various mix specification requirements
• Communicate and assist personnel in adjusting processes to conform to specifications
• Maintain recordkeeping and documentation
• Perform basic mathematical calculations
• Control inventory, manage personnel, and handle scheduling and staffing
• Manage a facility within budget
• Execute a maintenance program
• Keep the work area professional and clean
• Clearly communicate issues relevant to individual staff members or the team
• Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times
• Report to the assigned job site ready to begin work at the designated start time
• Adhere strictly to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Manual of Safety Practices and Procedures
• Adhere strictly to Shelly Company policies and procedures as outlined in the Company Book of Policies
• Work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required

Requirements

• Associate's degree or equivalent from an accredited university or technical school; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Proficient with Windows, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of the organization
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
• Ability to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear
• Ability to climb or balance frequently
