Assistant or Associate Professor of School Psychology
The Department of Educational Psychology in the College of Education and Human Development at Texas A&M University invites applications for one full-time tenure-track/tenured, Assistant or Associate Professor position within the APA-accredited School Psychology Program (SPSY). This is a nine-month tenure-track/tenured appointment beginning August 1, 2027. We seek applicants with an established and fundable programmatic line of research that contributes significantly to the areas of mental health and/or working with culturally and linguistically broad populations. The successful applicant will join a team of nationally recognized faculty with a record of external funding to support their research and outreach activities. Applicants should have well-defined programs of research, demonstrate expertise, or promise in obtaining extramural funding, and evidence of dedication to high-quality graduate teaching and mentoring. The program and department are especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute to the excellence of the academic community through their research, teaching, and service.
The School Psychology Program (https://epsy.tamu.edu/academics/school-psychology-doctoral/) is housed in the Department of Educational Psychology (http://epsy.tamu.edu), along with programs in Counseling Psychology (APA-accredited); Special Education; Bilingual/ESL Education; Research, Measurement, and Statistics; and Developmental Sciences. The School Psychology Program also has strong ties with Texas A&M University’s Psychology Department as well as the School of Public Health. The department and University provide a stimulating and supportive environment for research, teaching, and programmatic funding with a strong value on collaborative and interdisciplinary research.
Major Responsibilities
- Maintain a coherent and productive program of research that will impact mental health and the profession of school psychology
- Maintain publication activity in high-quality journals
- Supervise graduate student research
- Seek and secure external funding to support research, personnel preparation, and/or outreach
- Provide professional service at state and national levels and institutional service at program, department, and school/college levels
- Teach, provide clinical supervision, and mentor undergraduate/graduate students
- Must demonstrate commitment to exemplary teaching, research, and service
- Must demonstrate commitment to collegiality and collaboration
