About the role
Role Overview Provides comprehensive nursing care in collaboration with the healthcare team, utilizing clinical judgment to diagnose and treat human responses to health issues. Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, while coordinating activities with other disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Assessment: Conducts accurate multi-system evaluations, identifies deviations, and performs discharge assessments.
- Planning: Develops individualized care plans, coordinates care and discharge, and delegates activities based on patient condition and scope of practice.
- Implementation: Initiates protocols, executes physician plans, accurately documents, and administers medications, including emergency measures.
- Evaluation: Assesses response to treatment and participates in quality assurance activities.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum one year of labor and delivery or postpartum experience.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Valid RN license in primary state and additional credentials as required, with neonatal resuscitation and BLS certifications.
- Demonstrated knowledge of high-risk medication administration and maternal-newborn education.
- Computer skills required.
Preferred Attributes
- Previous healthcare experience, bachelor's degree, and extensive labor and delivery or postpartum experience.
