Temporary Assistant Buyer

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain weekly, monthly and seasonal business reports, analyzing performance by category, program, style, and channel to identify risks and opportunities.
• Maintain accurate line plans, assortment sheets, buy files, and style-color-size information throughout the seasonal process.
• Enter purchase orders ensuring accuracy of style, color, size, quantity, cost, retail, delivery window, and channel information.
• Track on-order inventory, receipts, and delivery status; proactively communicate delays, shortages, or discrepancies.
• Support seasonal milestone meetings, including line reviews, assortment reviews, buy reviews, and business hindsight presentations.

Requirements

• One to three years of experience in retail buying, merchandising, planning, allocation, or a related function; previous Assistant Buyer or Merchandise Assistant experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of retail math, including sales, margin, sell-through, inventory, markdowns, and weeks of supply.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and lookup formulas; proficiency in PowerPoint.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into clear findings and recommended actions.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
