About This Role

This role involves assisting members with their financial needs and performing various duties to support branch operations. It suits an individual who is courteous, tactful, and diplomatic, with strong multitasking and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process member financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and loan payments
• Post transactions, adjustments, and corrections to member accounts and maintain member records
• Sell items such as money orders, cashier's checks, traveler's checks, gift cards, and savings bonds
• Order member checks
• Answer questions on ATM, Debit, and Credit cards
• Organize and store all branch receipts and documents
• Apply stop pays as needed
• Balance cash drawer and daily transactions
• Meet referral goals by cross-selling credit union products and services that would benefit the member
• Provide routine information to members concerning products and services
• Refer members to the appropriate department for specific information and service
• Assist members with opening and closing accounts
• Answer questions about products and services and resolve member problems
• Perform a variety of miscellaneous tasks including scanning checks, typing, filing, computer input, and answering the telephone
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED
• Up to six months of similar or related experience
• Six months cash handling experience preferred
• Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job
• Able to operate a 10-key calculator, typewriter, and computer keyboard by touch
• Strong multi-tasking ability and communication skills
• Good attention to detail
• May lift up to 25 lbs taking marketing materials to events
• May need to sit for long periods of time in front of a computer
