Telecommunications Technician

About This Role

This role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting private telecommunications networks, primarily for clients in the mining and oil and gas sector in Western Australia. The technician will ensure safe, reliable, and high-performance communication operations, working as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunication equipment, including repeaters, mobiles, handheld radios, microwave and PVT LTE infrastructure
• Fault-find, diagnose, repair, and maintain communication networks
• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on telecommunication systems
• Program Digital Radios and Repeaters
• Document work performed and maintain detailed records of all telecommunication assets
• Provide technical support and training to end-users as required
• Collaborate with the IT and engineering teams to implement new telecommunication technologies and solutions

Requirements

• Demonstrated expertise in the installation, maintenance, and repair of RF, MW, LTE and Digital Radio telecommunications equipment
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues quickly
• Excellent communication and customer service skills to liaise with clients and colleagues
• Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and safety procedures
• A valid driver's license and the ability to travel to client sites as required
• Ability to pass drug and alcohol screens
• Australian work rights
• Current driver’s license
