About the role
Duties
In this position, you will serve as the Regional Emergency Communications Coordinator who plans, operates,
maintains and integrates operational and tactical communications in support of Federal, State and local
disaster response requirements. Typical assignments include:
- Providing technical expertise and advising the Regional Administrator on national and regional disaster emergency communications requirements.
- Providing technical expertise in systems management for disaster emergency communications.
- Conducting a variety of activities intended to avoid or resolve federal, state, and local interoperability related problems.
- Coordinating meetings of the Regional Emergency Communications Coordination Working Group (RECCWG) designed to promotion information sharing, solve complex interoperability issues, develop standards and advocate on behalf of the emergency management community to meet anticipated mission requirements.
