Telecommunications & Operations Technician

About This Role

This Telecommunications & Operations Technician role involves assisting with new implementations, daily support, and documentation for existing Telecomm/Network and AS400 systems. The position also includes supporting mobile devices, providing phone training, and maintaining physical inventory of cell/phone systems. You will troubleshoot issues, place repair tickets, and ensure efficient network equipment performance, while also overseeing AS400 replication monitoring and making necessary changes.

Responsibilities

• Support troubleshooting and problem resolution, along with the installation of approved telecom and network hardware and software purchases
• Support voice communications, including the contact center
• Provide some installations and cabling of workstations as needed
• Provide support and troubleshooting on phone and network issues, serving as a backup
• Monitor AS400 Itera replication, load PTF’s, manage user system access, work with system messages, service line printers, and place vendor trouble tickets, serving as backup to the AS400 Manager
• Maintain Telecomm inventory records and assist in maintaining documentation for general support procedures for LAN/WAN, Wireless, Routers, etc.
• Maintain cell phones and data cards, including adding changes and deletes
• Provide support for Zebra and other handheld devices managed by Soti MDM
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and sit throughout your day
• Ability to walk on a variety of flooring such as carpet, concrete, tile, etc.
• Strong communication skills: ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers and leaders on a daily basis
• Organizational skills: ability to prioritize and meet deadlines; project management
• Ability to work independently and as a team player to ensure customers receive orders timely and with the highest quality
• Maintain integrity and high standards from all perspectives
• Maintain and drive safety policies to all associates, driving for accountability of safe practices throughout shift

Nice to have:

• One (1) – three (3) years AS400 experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field experience
• Proficient knowledge of technological systems such as, but not limited to: Microsoft Office, AS400, Itera Replication
• Proficiency in English (written and verbal) to effectively communicate with associates and leadership

Important Details

• Schedule: Monday – Friday, standard business hours
