Technician - Psychiatric

About This Role

This psychiatric technician role involves coordinating non-clinical tasks under the direction of licensed nursing personnel, including transcribing doctor's orders, maintaining patient charts, and utilizing communication devices. The position also includes direct patient care duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Perform clerical responsibilities
• Maintain the patient chart
• Demonstrate good communication skills
• Facilitate patient/bed flow by utilizing admission, transfer, and discharge activities according to procedure
• Manage supplies and equipment
• Participate in ongoing educational activities
• Perform direct patient care duties as assigned under the direction of licensed nursing personnel
• Assist in the performance of procedures for the patient population served in a manner that is consistent with established policies and procedures
• Provide for patient safety
• Complete assigned goals

Requirements

• Skilled and proficient in basic math, grammar, and communication
• BLS within 14 days of hire

Nice to have:

• One year experience in business office or related health care field
• Previous experience utilizing customer service or public relation skills
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
