Technical Writer

About This Role

This fully remote position supports F-35 manufacturing by working closely with process engineering and other production teams. The role mainly consists of creating and updating process work instructions that the manufacturing team uses to build, inspect, and test electronics. It suits a candidate with strong attention to detail who works well in a team environment and can learn new computer software.

Responsibilities

• Create and update process work instructions for F-35 manufacturing
• Work closely with process engineering and other production teams
• Use BAE’s homegrown manufacturing execution system for tasks
• Incorporate technical writing, engineering drawings, parts lists, and pictures/diagrams into instructions

Requirements

• At least 1 year of technical writing or similar work experience OR a Bachelor's degree
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Familiarity with various document editing software packages such as Microsoft Office, Adobe, Autocad, SharePoint, etc.
• Good organizational skills
• Ability to drive multiple tasks concurrently

Nice to have:

• Experience in writing detailed work instructions and procedures
• Demonstrated communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to achieve verbatim compliance through executing process change requests from the process engineering team

Important Details

• Work format: fully remote, with initial on-site training until independent
• Schedule: choice between 4/10 schedule (Mon-Thurs) or 9/80 schedule (every other Friday off)
