Technical Writer

About This Role

This technical writing role provides onsite support to the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) by creating, editing, and maintaining high-quality technical documentation for various audiences. The role involves translating complex technical information into clear, concise, and accurate content, ensuring technical accuracy and completeness.

Responsibilities

• Provide a technical writing/editing capability in support of DARPA
• Create, edit, and maintain high-quality technical documentation (including reports and briefings) for a variety of audiences, including scientific, technical, and programmatic personnel, internal office and agency leadership, external agencies and end-users
• Work with program subject matter experts (SMEs) to translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and accurate content
• Ensure technical accuracy and completeness of all documentation
• Review all documents for clarity, grammar, spelling, punctuation and acronyms

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• 3+ years of experience in a technical writing role, with progressively increasing responsibility in the analysis and preparation of documentation
• Demonstrated experience with strategic messaging and the ability to write and validate technical and financial reports and briefs for senior leadership
• Active DoW TS/SCI clearance
• Self-starter with excellent oral and written communication skills, with mature judgment and attention to detail
• Proficiency with software suites such as Microsoft 365, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
• Ability to work fully onsite at DARPA's HQ
