Technical Writer

About This Role

This technical writer role at Victron Energy involves hands-on work with innovative energy products. You will install, connect, and configure products yourself, researching how they function in practice, and translating that technical knowledge into clear, reliable documentation for a wide range of products. This role suits a technical writer who thrives on freedom and technical challenges, helping customers, installers, and developers better understand and use the company's technology.

Responsibilities

• Install, connect, and configure products and prototypes independently, translating discoveries into clear technical documentation such as manuals, datasheets, and practical application descriptions
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and support teams to verify findings and gather missing information, taking initiative rather than waiting for all information to be available
• Contribute occasionally to commercial content, including video scripts, blog articles, and marketing materials
• Ensure all technical documentation is clear, correct, and consistent
• Follow the Victron Community, exchange knowledge, and gather feedback to further improve documentation

Requirements

• Familiarity with Victron Energy products or similar electrical systems, with an interest in connecting, testing, and discovering how inverters, battery chargers, or batteries work before writing about them
• Proven experience in technical writing at a medior or senior level (senior: more than 10 years of experience), preferably within electrical engineering or electronics
• Background in electrical engineering or a similar technical field is preferred
• Knowledge of the Victron Community, with active contributions preferred
• Ability to work independently and take initiative, investigating products, asking questions, and seeking answers rather than waiting for all technical information to be available
• Ability to convey technical information clearly and accurately, with excellent written and verbal English skills
• Ability to work from one of the offices in Almere, Eindhoven, or Groningen
