Technical Architect - Manager

About This Role

This manager-level role is for an architect who leads from the front, shaping the technical direction of complex programs, earning trust with clients, and building the capability of those around them. You will own end-to-end solution architecture across cloud, AI, and enterprise platforms, translating business strategy into pragmatic, delivery-ready designs. This position carries real accountability for the quality of the architecture, alignment across engineering and delivery teams, and the development of junior architects.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for areas of architecture for complex, enterprise-scale programs, from target-state definition through transition architecture to delivery oversight
• Define and drive architecture decisions (build/buy/reuse), articulating trade-offs, risks, and dependencies clearly to technical and business stakeholders
• Lead architecture design reviews and governance forums, ensuring standards are applied consistently across all workstreams
• Produce and maintain architecture blueprints, reference architectures, and Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) that serve as the definitive technical record for the program
• Determine approaches, methods, and procedures on new assignments, making decisions that will be implemented by the team
• Act as the primary technical interface for client stakeholders, translating business objectives into architecturally sound, commercially viable solutions
• Facilitate architecture workshops, design sessions, and executive briefings; build credibility with senior client and internal stakeholders through deep technical authority and clear communication
• Support the technology strategy and roadmap for the engagement, coordinating with delivery leads, engineering partners, and third-party vendors to maintain alignment
• Provide input into decisions on platform selection, integration patterns, cloud infrastructure, and security architecture
• Lead and mentor a team of technical leads and senior engineers, responsible for the quality of their outputs and their professional development
• Provide technical conscience for the engagement: setting and upholding engineering standards, code quality, and architecture hygiene
• Support delivery teams in translating architectural designs into implementable solutions, bridging the gap between intent and execution
• Contribute to practice development: growing Accenture's architecture capability, supporting hiring, training, and continuous development

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent; significant experience in lieu of formal qualification will be considered
• Solid commercial experience in technical or solution architecture roles, with a track record of end-to-end ownership on complex, multi-workstream programs (typically 5+ years)
• Proven ability to lead architecture across modern engineering solutions, with deep hands-on expertise in at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Strong knowledge of integration patterns, distributed system design, data architecture, and security architecture principles
• Experience operating in a client-facing advisory capacity, comfortable presenting to senior audiences
• Demonstrated people leadership: mentoring team members, leading design reviews, and developing team capability
• Active practitioner of AI-enabled development tooling, able to demonstrate tangible impact on delivery velocity, quality, or design quality
• Familiar with enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) and modern delivery practices (DevOps, CI/CD, Agile/SAFe)

Nice to have:

• Experience in architecting and governing AI-enabled solutions, including LLM integrations, agentic workflows, GenAI-powered features, and AI-assisted delivery practices
• Experience in embedding AI tooling (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) and AI-enabled CI/CD into the engineering practices of the teams you work with
• Experience in evaluating emerging technologies and bringing forward considered recommendations on adoption, sequencing, and risk
• Experience in contributing to Accenture's internal architecture community, sharing patterns, reference architectures, and lessons learned across the practice
• Experience in architecting and governing mobile applications across iOS and Android platforms, including native and cross-platform approaches
• Experience in defining mobile architecture patterns, design standards, and technical documentation for delivery teams
• Experience in optimizing mobile applications for performance, responsiveness, and user experience, leveraging platform-specific capabilities
• Experience in integrating mobile solutions with back-end services, RESTful APIs, and enterprise systems
• Cloud architecture certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, GCP Professional Cloud Architect)
• AI Certification (e.g., Anthropic, OpenAI)
