Team Leader - Maritime

About This Role

Leading a team focused on maritime structures and master planning services designs is the core of this role. The Team Leader will take a lead role in project design work, focusing on production, liaising with the WSP India Australian Team, and mentoring junior team members. This position suits an individual with a strong background in maritime structures and master planning.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of individuals with maritime structures and master planning services designs
• Take a lead role in project design work, focused on production and liaison with the WSP India Australian (AU) Team
• Mentor and coach junior members of the team
• Demonstrate proven experience in port planning, maritime master planning, and FEED studies, including options assessment and concept development
• Possess a sound understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Project
• Be fluent in English with an excellent understanding of technical terminology
• Demonstrate good management and technical skills
• Raise the level of technical competence within the teams
• Implement delivery and quality measurement processes
• Promote technical excellence in all projects
• Undertake technical reviews, peer reviews, checks, and contribute to the design
• Develop positive professional relationships with the WSP AU Team, communicating openly about project progress
• Supervise, coordinate, and support other project Engineers and CAD Technicians
• Ensure that Health & Safety is embedded into all work practices in line with company policies
• Ensure statutory and regulatory requirements are met within the design
• Participate in Project meetings, team meetings, disseminate information within the team, and communicate with other teams in WSP
• Identify and act on, or refer, potential risk issues and follow in full the company commercial and contracting processes
• Manage delegated tasks to ensure that deadlines are met and flag resourcing concerns to team leader
• Lead and guide the team, winning work, proactive approach to find solutions to problems
• Take care of Health & Safety of self and team members
• Demonstrate proven experience in leading design efforts and managing projects in a client-facing role
• Exhibit flexibility and adaptability
• Possess presentation and business communication skills
• Organise knowledge share and lessons learnt sessions from projects/tasks
• Lead Internal and External Audit preparations

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
• Proven experience in the port planning, maritime master planning and FEED studies, including options assessment and concept development with significant experience in a similar role or demonstration of a good track record
