Substitute Teacher
PURPOSE
To fill the role of teacher when the regular teacher is unavailable creating a consistent and positive learning experience.
IMPORTANT DETAILS
- Work Schedule: School year
- Work Hours: Elementary School: 7:45am-3:45pm; Middle and High Schools: 7:10am-3:10pm
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED/HSE
- 20 years of age or older to teach in the secondary schools
- 18 years of age or older to teach in the elementary schools
- Sincere belief in educating all students to high standards
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to follow and implement instructions successfully
Substitute Teacher pay is based on completed education level and licensing:
- High School Diploma/GED/HSE: $110 per day
- 60+ credit hours: $115 per day
- Bachelor degree or above: $120 per day
- Valid Indiana teaching license: $150 per day
- FWCS retired teacher w/valid Indiana teaching license: $170 per day
- Substitute Teacher pay for long-term assignments: Non-Licensed substitute teacher: $170 per day starting on the 16th consecutive day in the same assignment or if valid Indiana teaching license: contracted teacher daily rate starting on the 16th consecutive day in the same assignment
