About This Role

This permanent full-time position as a Science teacher at Alkimos College involves promoting student engagement and academic achievement in a supportive environment. The role requires delivering an engaging and relevant Science curriculum from early adolescence to senior secondary courses, within a college-wide instructional framework focused on explicit teaching. Responsibilities

• Deliver an engaging and relevant Science curriculum, from early and middle adolescent phases of learning, through to senior secondary courses
• Adopt a college-wide instructional framework based on explicit teaching and instructional skills, strategies, and tactics
• Develop innovative classroom practices and utilise Information Communication Technology to provide integrated, personalised, and authentic learning experiences for students
• Create environments conducive to learning and provide educational opportunities that are fun, purposeful, relevant and cater for differing student learning needs
• Promote and foster student engagement and academic achievement
• Commit to college extra-curricular activities (after-school Academies)
• Actively promote the college motto, values and vision within the college and wider community

Requirements

• Hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration
• Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment
• Apply for a WA Working with Children Check before starting
• Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before starting
