Teacher - Math

About This Role

This teaching position provides educational leadership for adolescents aged 11–17 who are experiencing behavioral, emotional, educational, family, and social challenges. The role focuses on creating a classroom environment conducive to learning and maximizing each student's educational achievement, specifically in mathematics for grades 6-12.

Responsibilities

• Provide educational leadership to students in the classroom
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning
• Strive to maximize the educational achievement of each student
• Review student records to understand each student’s abilities and needs

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from a fully accredited college or university
• Florida Educators certificate required by the Florida Department of Education
• Certified in ESE (Exceptional Student Education) or willing to become certified within 6 months of hire
• Knowledge of educational theories and classroom teaching strategies
• Ability to work with multi-level/multi-grade students in a small class environment
• Computer literacy
• Commitment to facility mission and policies
• Adhere to all facility and school board policies
• Pass a Level 2 background check and pre-employment drug screen

Important Details

• Schedule: School Hours: 8:30 am-3:30 pm
• Team: 4:1 student to staff ratio, with additional support from on-site psychiatrists, a board certified behavior analyst, therapists, and a full medical team
