JOB PURPOSE
Ensure the plant's fiscal, accounting, and regulatory compliance by correctly applying Mexican legislation on taxes, social security, foreign trade, and government reporting, contributing to financial integrity, operational efficiency, and the mitigation of legal risks.
PROFILE COMPETENCIES
Education
• University degree in Public Accounting – required.
• Master’s degree in Taxation or Accounting preferred.
Experience
• 5 to 6 years of experience in tax compliance and accounting, preferably in manufacturing or maquiladora industries.
• Proven experience in VAT refund processes and government reporting.
• Familiarity with foreign trade, INEGI questionnaires, and compliance requirements related to the IMMEX program.
Technical Knowledge
• Strong technical knowledge of federal, state, and social security tax regulations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and SAP (or similar ERP system).
Languages
• Professional communication in Spanish and English.

RESPONSIBILITIES / FUNCTIONS
• Ensure the accurate and timely fulfillment of federal, state, and municipal tax obligations, including income tax, VAT, payroll-related contributions, and other applicable taxes.
• Oversee and manage obligations with the IMSS, INFONAVIT, and other social security entities.
• Lead and coordinate the VAT refund process, including preparation, submission, and follow-up with authorities.
• Prepare and submit INEGI questionnaires and other government statistical reports.
• Provide support during audits and reviews by tax and social security authorities.
• Provide technical tax advice to management and support internal finance and accounting processes.
• Stay up to date with Mexican tax legislation and regulatory changes.
• Collaborate with external advisors and auditors as needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve internal tax processes, continuously evaluate tax procedures to propose and implement improvements that optimize time, reduce risks, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate responses to requests and procedures with tax and customs authorities, proactively managing interactions with the SAT, Ministry of Economy, IMSS, and other entities, ensuring timely and documented responses.
