Tax - Senior Tax Associate/Tax Manager/Senior Tax Manager

About This Role

This role involves preparing and reviewing tax computations and returns for corporate and individual clients, ensuring timely submission to tax authorities. It suits a tax professional who can identify potential tax issues, advise clients on compliance, and provide guidance to junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepare corporate and individual tax computations and returns to ensure timely submission to the tax authorities
• Review tax computations and identify potential tax issues based on relevant tax laws, regulations and guidelines
• Assist and advise clients on their tax compliance obligations
• Provide guidance and supervise staff on tax compliance and administration matters
• Support advisory and consultancy tasks, including handling appeals to the Inland Revenue Board (IRB)
• Research, analyse, and interpret updates in tax laws, regulations and guidelines
• Meet with clients and organise necessary information

Requirements

• Degree in a relevant discipline and/or a professional qualification, preferably in Finance, Accountancy/Taxation (e.g., ACCA/MICPA/CPA Aus/ICAEW/CTIM graduate)
• Membership in a recognised professional accounting or taxation body is an advantage
• Minimum 2 years of experience for Senior Associate role
• Minimum 5 years of experience for Manager role
• Minimum 8 years of experience for Senior Manager role
• Strong analytical skills, self-motivated, well-organized, able to handle multiple tasks, and work independently with minimal supervision
• High level of integrity and the ability to work autonomously
• Good command of both spoken and written English and Bahasa Malaysia
• Friendly and positive attitude with a pleasant personality
• Candidates must be resident in Malaysia, or have the right to work in Malaysia
