About the role
Role Overview: This position involves structuring tax aspects of multinational private equity real estate investments, including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, dispositions, and IPOs. The role requires preparing tax opinions, memos, structure decks, and Excel models to illustrate tax benefits, as well as assessing the tax impact of regulatory changes and developing supportable tax arguments.
Key Responsibilities
- Reviewing tax memoranda, opinions, and structuring documents; acting as a primary contact for clients.
- Leading multiple engagements, supervising teams, and ensuring quality client service.
- Managing engagement risks and contributing to team development and training.
- For senior roles, managing engagement risk, financial performance, and business growth opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum five years’ experience in partnership, M&A, or federal tax planning at a law or accounting firm; senior roles require at least eight years.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution; CPA, EA, JD, or LLM credentials preferred, with a one-year credential acquisition window if not initially possessed.
- Expertise in partnership taxation, fund structures, and domestic/international tax law.
- Strong client relationship development, research, communication, and leadership skills.
