Tax Manager / Senior Tax Manager / Tax Principal

About This Role

This role is for an experienced tax professional to lead engagements, develop client relationships, and mentor junior talent within a leading accounting, tax, and advisory firm. The position involves navigating complex tax environments with clarity, strategy, and care.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and review of complex tax returns, including corporate, partnership, fiduciary, and individual
• Manage a portfolio of clients across diverse industries and entity structures
• Evaluate financial data and recommend tax planning strategies to minimize liabilities and ensure compliance
• Supervise, mentor, and develop junior team members across multiple engagements
• Research and resolve advanced tax issues using authoritative guidance
• Monitor engagement budgets, deadlines, and billing
• Serve as a point of contact for clients and build long-term relationships based on trust and responsiveness
• Support business development activities and identify opportunities for growth

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
• CPA license required
• Minimum 5–15 years of progressive tax experience in public accounting
• Prior supervisory experience managing client relationships and engagement teams
• Strong knowledge of federal, state and international tax issues and compliance requirements
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and tax software applications
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
