Tax Manager - Personal Tax

About This Role

This role is for an experienced Personal Tax Manager to join a well-established and growing accountancy practice. It is a client-facing position, managing a broad portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, business owners, trusts, and estates, with a good mix of compliance and advisory work.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of your own portfolio while working closely with senior members of the team on more complex tax matters
• Manage a varied portfolio of private clients, including high-net-worth individuals, directors, business owners, trusts, and estates
• Oversee personal, trust, and estate tax compliance
• Review tax returns and support the delivery of work to a high standard
• Advise clients across areas including Capital Gains Tax (CGT), Inheritance Tax (IHT), income tax, and trusts
• Identify tax planning and advisory opportunities
• Act as a trusted point of contact for clients and other professional advisers
• Manage HMRC correspondence, enquiries, and disclosures where required
• Support more senior colleagues with trust, estate, and succession planning work
• Review work and provide guidance to more junior members of the team
• Help with workflow planning and the development of the wider team

Requirements

• ACA, ACCA, or CTA qualification
• Strong UK practice experience within personal tax
• Proven experience managing a portfolio of private clients
• Good technical knowledge across personal tax, trusts, and estates
• Experience working with high-net-worth individuals and/or business owners
• Previous experience reviewing or supervising junior staff
• Strong communication and client management skills
