Tax Analyst

About This Role

This role involves managing Australian tax compliance and gaining exposure to the UK side of a multinational business. The successful candidate will handle a variety of tax areas including corporate tax, GST, employment tax, acquisitions, and international tax. It suits a proactive individual who thrives on variety and is eager to develop broad tax experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and support monthly and quarterly GST returns and corporate income tax compliance across group entities
• Support tax effect accounting, provisioning, and reconciliations between financial reporting and tax filings
• Assist with employment tax matters, including FBT and payroll-related tax data
• Analyze financial and operational data to support tax reporting, models, and trackers
• Support tax input into business acquisitions and due diligence as the business continues to grow
• Provide practical, timely advice to finance and business stakeholders on day-to-day tax questions (e.g., GST/FBT treatment)
• Liaise with external advisors and build strong working relationships across Finance
• Support responses to tax audits, reviews, and information requests from tax authorities

Requirements

• Studying towards CTA, CA, CPA – open to confident, capable candidates without a formal qualification if they can hit the ground running
• Solid grounding in corporate tax and/or GST/indirect tax, from practice or in-house
• Corporate/business tax background – not suited to personal tax or trusts specialists
• Proactive by nature
• Clear communicator who can build relationships across a business
• Strong Excel skills and comfortable working with data
• Energized by variety and keen to build broad tax experience
