Tax Analyst

About This Role

This tax analyst role involves managing various tax compliance activities, including direct tax, withholding tax, and GST, as well as supporting tax accounting and transfer pricing. The position suits a detail-oriented Chartered Accountant with experience in tax audits and litigation, capable of working independently and meeting strict deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Compile corporate tax returns, tax audit reports, and advance tax computation
• Ensure timely deduction and deposit of TDS, and file quarterly returns
• Manage GST compliance, including filing GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, and GSTR-9C where applicable
• Assess input tax credit eligibility and reverse charge mechanism applicability
• Liaise with tax consultants for GST matters
• File refund applications for export-related activities
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual tax provisioning
• Compute current tax and deferred tax as per applicable accounting standards
• Compile Form 3CEB and liaise with tax consultants and the regional team for Transfer Pricing documentation and benchmarking
• Conduct treaty benefit analysis and ensure Form 15CA/15CB compliance
• Ensure Form 3CEB compliance
• Compile and review responses to notices from tax authorities
• Track litigation matters, appeals, rectifications, refunds, and demands
• Work and coordinate with statutory auditors, tax consultants, and tax authorities
• Provide tax updates and guidance to management
• Reconcile tax credits, TDS receivables, GST input credits, and tax payments
• Monitor outstanding tax demands and initiate rectification or appeal where required

Requirements

• Chartered Accountant with 3 to 4 years of post-qualification experience
• Strong knowledge of income tax, GST, TDS/TCS
• Experience with audits, assessments, notices, and litigation
• Strong Excel, reconciliation, documentation, and communication skills
• Ability to manage stringent deadlines, stakeholders, and tax law changes
• Ability to work independently and attention to details
